Buddy Kitchens has completed a bespoke kitchen project in Sant Joan d’Alacant, near Alicante. The finished interior combines deep navy cabinetry, light upper units, warm brass details and a pale stone-effect worktop. The design was created for a compact room where every cabinet, appliance position and working surface needed to earn its place.
Rather than filling the room with visually heavy units, the kitchen was divided into two clear levels. The dark blue base cabinetry gives the design depth and character, while the white wall cabinets keep the upper part of the room bright. The result is a fitted kitchen that feels confident, practical and carefully balanced.
“The owners wanted colour, but they did not want the kitchen to feel smaller or darker. We kept the strongest tone below eye level and used white cabinetry above the worktop. That decision gave the room contrast while preserving light and a sense of space.”

A slim glazed display cabinet was introduced beside the refrigerator. Its dark frame connects visually with the navy cabinetry, while the illuminated interior adds a decorative element without taking up valuable floor space.
Designed specifically for the room
This was not a standard kitchen selected from a fixed catalogue. The cabinetry was planned around the actual dimensions of the property, including the window, existing walls, appliance locations and available circulation space.
The U-shaped layout creates a continuous preparation surface and keeps the main kitchen functions close together. The sink sits beneath the window, the hob occupies the longer worktop section and the tall appliance zone is grouped at the side of the room. This arrangement preserves a generous working area without making the kitchen feel congested.
